UGC NET 2024 Admit Card has been released. Exam Date has been revised. UGC NET (University Grant Commission National Eligibility Test) is a national level eligibility test conducted by the National Testing Agency. This test is conducted for “Assistant Professor” or “Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor Programme” for Indian students. UGC NET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The following is the eligibility criteria of UGC NET 2024 exam:

• Students must have a Master’s degree or equivalent degree to be eligible for exam.
• Candidates belonging to General/ Unreserved/ General- EWS candidates will need to score at least 55% marks in post graduation or equivalent.
• The OBC- NCL/ SC/ ST/ PwD/ Third Gender category students must obtain at least 50% marks in Master’s degree or equivalent exam to be eligible for exam.
• Students applying for JRF should not be more than 30 years as on the first day of month and 5% relaxation will be given to students belonging to OBC- NCL/ SC/ ST/ Third gender/ Women candidates. 
• For Assistant Professor, there will be no age limit criteria for applying.
• Applicants appearing in final year or awaiting for results will be eligible for admission.

UGC NET 2024 Application Form

Candidates are able to fill UGC NET application form from 20th April 2024 for June session. The application form is released through online mode only. Candidates must fill the correct and valid details in application form to avoid rejection. While filling the application form, students must also upload the scanned images of photograph and signature within a specific size and format. 

To edit mistakes the authority will also provide a correction facility for a limited time period. Candidates are advised to provide working email ID and mobile number while registration as all the communication will be done through them. Students must fill the application form till 19th May 2024. After submitting all the details, take a printout of application form for further reference.

Application Fee:

The UGC NET application fee can be submitted through online mode only by using the Debit card/ Credit card/ Net banking/ UPI. Candidates must check out the category wise application fee for UGC NET 2024 given below:

UGC NET 2024 Exam Pattern

Following are the complete details related to UGC NET exam pattern 2024:

• The UGC NET exam will be held through online mode.
• Question paper will contain Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
• Candidates will get three hours to complete the paper.
• There will be 150 questions asked in the exam.
• Applicants will be able to give exam in English and Hindi language.
• For correct answer, two marks will be deducted and no negative marks will be given for wrong answer.

How to Apply for UGC NET 2024

Students should follow the given steps to apply for UGC NET 2024:

• Visit the website of UGC NET.
• Register online by providing basic information such as name, email Id, mobile number etc.
• Fill the application form and note down the system generated application number.
• Upload the scanned images of photograph and signature in particular format and size as prescribed by the authority.
• Preview the application form carefully from submitting it.
• Pay the application fee by using SBI/ CANARA/ ICICI/ HDFC/ Debit card/ Credit card/ UPI and also keep a proof of paid fee.
• Take a printout of application form and keep it safe for future reference.

UGC NET 2024 Syllabus

The UGC NET syllabus 2024 will be different for both paper I and paper II. The Paper I will contain questions from Quantitative, Research, Teaching Aptitude, Higher Education System,Information and Communication Technology, Data Interpretation etc and Paper II is subject specific and it contains questions from the subjects chosen by students while filling the UGC NET application form.

UGC NET 2024 Preparation Tips

Following are some preparation tips for UGC NET 2024:

• Candidates must go through the complete exam pattern and syllabus of exam.
• Students should prepare short notes and highlight important topics.
• Do revision regularly and stay focused.
• Applicants must solve previous year sample papers to examine their performance.
• Take a proper diet and sleep for good health.

UGC NET 2024 Admit Card

The admit card has been released on 17th August 2024. Students are able to download their admit card from the website. For appearing in examination, it is mandatory for students to download the admit card. 

No candidate are able to appear for an exam without an admit card. The authority does not send the hall tickets to the candidates by post. The hall ticket contain exam date, candidate’s name, gender, important instructions, photograph etc.

UGC NET 2024 Result

UGC NET results will be released through online mode. Students will be able to view the result in the month of September 2024. The result will be published after a few days of commencement of exam. Authority will not provide results to the students individually through offline mode.

Students will be able to check their result by using their login credentials provided at the time of registration. Once the result is published, there will be no revaluation or rechecking of result. It will contain the total marks of candidates scored in entrance examination.

UGC NET 2024 Answer Key

The authority will release the provisional answer key on the website. The provisional answer key will be displayed for two to three days. Candidates will also have an opportunity to challenge the answer key by paying Rs. 1000/- per answer key challenged. 

Candidates will need to also submit justification/ evidence along with the answer key challenge. The authority will verify all the challenges with the help of subject experts and release the final answer key. No grievance will be entertained regarding the final answer key.

UGC NET 2024 Cut Off

The cut off of UGC NET will be made available through online mode. Authority will publish it after a few days of declaration of result. The cut off will be prepared on the basis of various factors such as total number of students appearing in exam, total seats, difficulty level of exam etc.

UGC NET cut off will be drawn separately for all category candidates. It will be compulsory for candidates to score cut off marks to be eligible for admission. Applicants who score equal to the cut off mark or more will get qualified for admission.

UGC NET 2024 Selection Procedure

Candidates will be selected for assistant professor and junior research fellowship and assistant professor on the basis of marks obtained in UGC NET 2024 exam. The final admission will be given on the basis of marks scored in exam and cut off marks.

There will be no separate admission procedure organized for shortlisted candidates. Candidates who obtained their rank in top 6% will be selected for admission. To get admission it will be mandatory for candidates to score minimum qualifying marks in both papers to be eligible for JRF and assistant professor post.
