Rajasthan University is a public and state university in Jaipur, Rajasthan and is approved by UGC (University Grants Commission). The university was established as Rajputana University on 8 of January, 1947. Later on the Rajputana University was renamed as the University of Rajasthan (Rajasthan University) in the year 1956.

The university has been accredited with Grade A+ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and also awarded with the status of “University with Potential for Excellence” by the UGC, New Delhi.
